With just one win and a 26-point deficit to championship leaders Red Bull in the 2010 standings, Ferrari have not enjoyed the best of starts to the season. However, driver Fernando Alonso remains confident his team can get on top of their development struggles and reverse their fortunes as the calendar’s midpoint approaches.
At the last race in Turkey, Alonso struggled in qualifying to such an extent that he failed to make it through to Q3 and started the race from 12th. He eventually finished eighth, just behind team mate Felipe Massa, but the Spaniard only posted the 11th fastest race lap and was almost nine-tenths down on Istanbul Park’s quickest man, Renault’s Vitaly Petrov.
