He arrived at Ferrari amid much fanfare, but Fernando Alonso has endured more downs than ups during a fraught 2010 season. However, as the dust settles on a particularly tough Belgian Grand Prix, Alonso is determined to stay positive ahead of the Italian team’s home event at Monza next weekend – a race he says could prove critical to his dwindling title hopes.

After qualifying down in 10th, the Spaniard’s Spa-Francorchamps event was further hampered by first-lap contact with the Williams of Rubens Barrichello and then an early tyre choice mistake. When the rain eventually returned, he crashed out of the race on Lap 38.

Alonso was quite lucky in Belgium to go on racing after the big shunt with Rubens… he was not so lucky to avoid the wall when he spun :-(

yes, indeed but what he needs to do is to cool off a bit because he wants more then the car is capable and well the results we all see. he had more down’s than up’s this season and hi’s advantage on Ferrari is that Massa is far for being a top driver. i really hope all the best for him, but as it goes this season is lost. better luck next one and he might remember that even Schumacher needed 5 years to win with Ferrari and in an era when thanks to Jan Todd could fix almost anything stupid done by Schumacher without penalties. Cheers and thanks for posting.
