Glock set to miss final test after appendix operation

Virgin’s Timo Glock is expected to miss next week’s final pre-season test at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya after undergoing surgery to remove his appendix on Monday. Glock is currently recovering in a hospital in Switzerland following the routine operation.

“I can confirm that Timo had an operation yesterday to remove his appendix after a sudden case of appendicitis,” explained Virgin team principal John Booth. “The procedure was routine and Timo is recovering well in a Swiss hospital where he is likely to remain for a further 24 hours. To ensure a swift recovery, it is unlikely that he will take part in next week’s test in Barcelona. We look forward to having Timo back with us very soon.”
