Hamilton wows Indian crowds on streets of Bangalore

The residents of Bangalore enjoyed a taste of Formula One action on Tuesday as McLaren’s Lewis Hamilton took to the streets of the India city in his 2008 world championship-winning MP4-23. Over 40,000 fans lined the temporary track to watch the show and witness the unique sight and sound of a Formula One car up close, ahead of the country’s inaugural race next month.

“It’s incredible,” he said. “I’ve visited India many times over the last couple of years and it’s never been more exciting to be here than now: the inaugural Indian Grand Prix is only weeks away and you can really feel the growing passion of the people and the excitement levels continuing to build.
