Hold on to your hats, it’s high-speed Silverstone

Silverstone’s layout has changed many times, but in its 61 years on the calendar, one thing has remained constant: speed. By the mid ’80s, it was Formula One’s fastest track; indeed, Keke Rosberg’s ’85 pole lap boasted the highest average lap speed in F1 – 259 km/h – until 2002.
