Jenson Button was born in England in 1980 in Forme, Sommerset. His parent divorced when he was 7 and it was up to his mother the duties of raising him and his three sisters. Jenson’s father John Button was a present during this time and encouraged the young Button to race.
After several successful years in the minor categories of motorsport, Button out as test driver for Williams in 1999. His times were better than those of Bruno Junqueira, so an impressed Frank Williams awarded him with s seat on the team, a responsibility he was going to share with Ralf Schumacher.
In 2000 Jenson participated in his first season as F1 race driver, but nevertheless with dismal results. It is up to interpretations, but it might have been that early experience what drove him to break his contract with Williams and sign by Benetton in 2001, where again, fails to meet expectations set for him.
After a final season with Benetton (Renault at the start of the 2002 season), the brit signed with BAR Honda so he could get a better car, in well-funded team, therefore he could fight for the top positions. With the team Jenson has his best year as a professional, reaching third place in the standings at the end of 2004 season. His career became stagnant as the team could no reproduce the same performance on its cars, although he scored points regularly to finish ninth and sixth in the 2005 and 2006 championship respectively.
