Kimi-Matias Räikkönen was born 17 October of 1979 in Espoo, Finland. Karting was his get-go in the world of racing, and then he set for a meteoric rise through smaller categories in route to Formula 1.
A fair conclusion that could be made out Raikkonen driving skills is that he is an undoubtedly fast and competitive driver who keeps his cool and concentration allowing him to be constantly getting results.
The Finn made it to Formula 1 with Sauber in 2001 after only 23 races bellow that threshold, but bear in mind that he had a success rate of about 56% by winning 13 of 23 events in which he competed. His last step before the “big circus” was the Formula Renault UK Championship, in which he left as champion after winning in seven out of 10 races.
The story tells that the young driver was asleep a mere 30 minutes before the start of his maiden Formula 1 race at the 2001 Australian GP, something that says a great deal about Kimi’s personality, since he was capable of finishing that race in 6th and earn his first points in a uncompetitive car; impressive.
