Although Robert Kubica scored eight points in Turkey, Renault left Istanbul Park feeling disappointed. Not only was Vitaly Petrov’s promising race spoiled by a puncture, but Kubica spent the afternoon trapped behind the two Mercedes drivers, despite the R30′s quick pace.
Renault’s chief race engineer Alan Permane, however, is confident the team will be able to improve their qualifying performance at the next event in Canada, and with more upgrades on the way for Montreal, he is hopeful they’ll be able to move ahead of Mercedes soon
