MotoGP world champion Valentino Rossi is back behind the wheel of a Formula One car after beginning a two-day test for Ferrari at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya on Wednesday. Rossi has been given the opportunity to drive by the Italian team as a reward for winning his seventh MotoGP title last season.

After arriving early to speak to the engineers, the Italian took to the Spanish track in a F2008 provided by Ferrari’s F1 Clienti department. Fitted with GP2-spec tyres to comply with this season’s strict testing restrictions, it is the same car Rossi tested back in November 2008.
