Once again it was the Miramonti Canal that provided the backdrop to the meeting between fans and the Scuderia Ferrari drivers, who as we all know are in Madonna di Campiglio for the weeklong Wrooom event.

At the end of the day in which they took part in the customary press conferences before tacklong the snow covered slopes, Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa got up on the stage built up at the end of the 3-Tre piste that hosts one of the rounds of the Skiing World Cup.

In a short interview session arranged for the enthusiastic spectators at the event, both Ferrari men explained that, as yet, they knew little about their new car. “For now we have only got a rough idea of what it’s like, but we can definitely expect it to be competitive, because everyone at Maranello has been working very hard,” said Fernando. Felipe underlined the importance of getting off to a good start. “If we want to fight for the title we have to be competitive right from the start,” before joking that the only certainty was the car would be red!

The Spaniard went on to reveal how in the world of Formula 1, speed is even a factor when it comes to one’s feelings. “The disappointment after missing out in Abu Dhabi in 2010 passed quickly, as one also quickly forgets the joy of winning. In our work, everything goes quickly!” Asked about the simulator, Massa explained its importance, given the few test sessions available and then added with a smile that is favorite track is actually the demanding 3-Tre. “It’s the one I feel most comfortable with and I have no problems!”

Today is the final day of the event organized by Philip Morris International on the slopes of the Dolomites, which has brought together the Ferrari and Ducati teams and the specialist Formula 1 and MotoGP media. It will feature a race on the frozen lake when the four wheeled men will take on their two wheeled counterparts at the wheel of go-karts and Fiat Cinquecento’s.

Well preparations for last dance of the Formula1 for the 2011 season had a good start and the feeling was bit like the Young Drivers test were continuing in Brazil too. No less than 4 young pilots that were present in Abu Dhabi showed their skills once more in this 1st Practice for their teams. Things worth noticed were the clutch failure of Grosjean’s Renault and Alonso’s engine as well as the new helmet cam that was on display on Sebastien Vettel brand new crash-helmet.

Here are the results of today’s 1st Practice for the Grande Prêmio do Brasil 2011:

Fernando Alonso took Ferrari’s only grand prix victory of the year at the British Grand Prix last month, but has come close on several occasions and been on the podium at five of the last six races, which showed the real progress that Ferrari has made since Australia.

After a meeting with team principal Stefano Domenicali, technical director Pat Fry and engine boss Luca Marmorini on Tuesday, Montezemolo said that Ferrari would score more victories over the remaining races.

"I can see the right spirit in the team after a very difficult start to the season," he told Ferrari’s official website. "Domenicali and his crew seem very determined, concentrating fully on their tasks for the second part of the year which I am sure will feature Ferrari in the role of a key player. I expect we will pick up wins to add to the important and historically very significant victory achieved at Silverstone."

Ferrari will continue to work at its factory in Maranello until Sunday when it will close its doors for a two week summer break. More aerodynamic upgrades are planed and further developments to its exhaust-blown diffuser ahead of the Belgian Grand Prix Weekend 26-29 Aug. 2011.

Fernando Alonso says he’s happy with fourth place on the grid in Germany, despite at one stage looking like a threat to Red Bull, Alonso insists that he’s the same margin behind the blue cars as he expected to be, the only surprise being that Lewis Hamilton was able to put himself in front of him taking a wordy 2nd place on the grid.

“I think it was OK for us,” said the Spaniard. “We said yesterday we were between two and four tenths behind Red Bull, and we are between two and four tenths behind Red Bull. Hamilton did very well today. Yesterday maybe they were testing some new parts or whatever, and they were not so good in the times at the end, but they were very competitive, and today they showed it.

“No surprises, I think. To be fourth is a very good position for us, and in the race tomorrow maybe with the rain, anything can happen, so we will attack for sure.

“We’re still improving the car, the new parts we brought here are also very positive, the car feels better and better every time. It’s not that our competitors are looking at the TV in the 15 days between the two races; everyone is improving. We know McLaren brought here a big aero package, Red Bull as well. It’s a competition also outside the races which team is quicker in developing the car as well.”

Alonso says that a wet race will be all about keeping away from trouble because of the weather forecast for tomorrow.

“Tomorrow there’s a forecast of rain, and if that’s true, I think the race is very open," he said. "You never know what can happen in a wet race. Tire temperature will be an issue, because already we have problems with dry tires, and if it’s wet, with 11C ambient temperature, I don’t know how we will put some heat in the tires. It’s the same for everybody. It’s a race to survive tomorrow."

Fernando Alonso, with his Ferrari has won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix for the 2011 season and this was the British GP at the newly upgraded Silverstone circuit.

Fernando Alonso took advantage over the some small seconds lost by Red Bull in the pits during the second stop in order to overcome Webber and Vettel, but this was not the main reason why the Spaniard fly to his victory today but the pace he had witch was way above the Red Bull’s.

In addition, Lewis Hamilton from McLaren helped Alonso keeping Vettel at bay. Hamilton had great race but due to fuel concerns he had to slow down and finished 4th just ahead of Massa which he fought to the last corner of the race.

And while they were optimistic before Melbourne I thing that I a great chance that they along with Virgin which managed to get out there and do some testing will be unable to beat the 107% rule. So if this goes on I guess this year will see less cars on the track than last year. Keep in mind for now this are only speculations but they were fueled by Timo Glock declarations who has admitted that Virgin might struggle to qualify for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix now that the FIA has reintroduced the old 107 percent qualifying rule for 2011, and, based on the times we see on the board, it means cars must be within about 6 seconds of the Q1 pole time on Saturday to qualify for the Melbourne grid, Timo concern is very real because according to the time table both Virgins were 2 seconds behind the 107% time, and to set an even bigger setback for HRT, it appears that front wing of their car did not meet the mandatory crash test and they will be forced to use the 2010 nose, and almost everyone is believing that they will be unable to qualify.

The top contesters also had ups and downs, Ferrari was testing different set-up and Massa made a few excursions off the track and set a pretty low time for the first session but he improved almost 2 seconds in the next practice. Hamilton and Button also looked very strong and they managed to secure first two places in the second testing while being 6th and 7th in the first session.

Red Bull showed again that they mean business and Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber drove very strong in both sessions, and you can add to this the fact that Adrian Newey told Italy’s Corriere della Sera: "We currently have an advantage of between 3 to 5 tenths.", so yes they are very confident with were they stand this year and my guess will fight very strong to maintain the drivers and constructors championship within their grasp..

Rubens Barrichello set the fastest time for his team scoring 5th respectively 9th best results, showing that Williams is there to fight and score points.

Niko and Schumacher also made some fast times but as Hamilton said is still to early to speak about the real deal, and all will be played down in the qualifying session Saturday.

Second was Sebastian Vettel with 1.13.614, so those 13.000+ Spanish formula1 fans present today at the Ceste circuit had what to see, hundreds of laps made by all 12 formula1 teams.

On the first part of the day the RB7 was faster then F-150 while Vettel was improving his time from yesterday Ferrari was making test with different set-ups, with one of those set-ups Alonso was able to make a full run on just 1.13.614 a time which no pilot was able to beat. Only Di Rest and Vettel were in the same second as the Spaniard while the rest of the drivers were at 1.046 second and more (Lewis Hamilton).

Today Lewis Hamilton started his 2011 season with the old MP4-25. But Lewis was not the only one to run for the fist time this year, in the same position were Robert Kubica (Lotus Renault), Timo Glock (Virgin) and Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso).

Also today the Mexican Sergio Pérez, was first seen driving the new C-30 from Sauber – Ferrari, with his his fellow latin driver the Venezuelan Pastor Maldonado (Williams), but they were out only late in afternoon and made only 42 respectively 29 laps.

Fernando Alonso said that he is feeling very positive about the new Ferrari F150 he added that today some stability problems surfaced but the car is still a work in progress and this is why this tests are so important. His objective and for Ferrari also this year is the title and with this car he said that those possibilities are very high but a the trick will also be to adapt at the new cars. He said “we have to build a versatile car to be able to get maximum results on any type of tyres.

Here are the results from today. Hispania was highly competitive today I cannot but wonder why so bat results last year even if these are just tests, 6th position for Narain Karthikeyan only 1.165s from best time.

Ferrari president said: “This year we have to win and we will do our best to win”.

"We have updated the team, we have made some improvements and we are awaiting the challenges against our first opponents." Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso was denied the drivers’ title during the final race of the season in Abu Dhabi last year, after a dubious call from former race engineer Chris Dyer meant the Spaniard wound up in seventh place. Dyer has since been replaced by Englishman Pat Fry, formerly of Red Bull and McLaren.

Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali assured fans that the Italian outfit will be doing everything they can to win both championships, especially having come so close to helping Alonso triumph in 2010. "We are starting from a season where we had difficult moments," said Domenicali, "but we also experienced some beautiful moments. We want to work on and build from these beautiful moments." "For 2011 our goals are very clear, that we are aiming to win both the titles, constructors’ and drivers’ titles, this must be the goal of our team. "So the expectations, that of being able to have a car competitive from the start, a reliable car, a strong car, and I have to say that we’ve seen this last year. "If you’re not perfect within such a competitive environment, with opponents that are so strong with teams, which also varied numerically, then it becomes difficult to win." Ferrari are the first team to unveil their 2011 car, which they have called the F150, named to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy.

The new car design incorporates the various regulation changes that will be enforced in 2011 – most notably the introduction of an adjustable rear wing, and the removal of devices such as F-ducts and double diffusers. This season will also see the return of KERS, a device that stores energy created by braking, which can be used to boost power at certain points during the race. Ferrari’s technical director Aldo Costa explained why the design of the new car has been focussed around aerodynamics. "The major aspects with the most impact on the project were connected to the aerodynamic development," he said, "The double diffuser, the F-duct is gone – the driver can’t change the car’s aerodynamic setup anymore. "The rear wing will be moveable, so that the driver can overtake the car in front and use it in qualifying according to his needs. "KERS is also back, but, although we’ve improved its size it’s still quite big and the technicians had to redesign the car’s layout."

However, Domenicali is well aware that the most important change for 2011 could be the introduction of Pirelli tyres. The Italian company will take over from Bridgestone as the sport’s sole tyre supplier. Domenicali said: "The car you will see in the first race in Bahrain will be completely different from the one we use in the first tests in Valencia. "Our target will be driving for reliability and understanding how the new tyres behave and work. We know this year Pirelli is supplying new tyres. This is a difficult challenge but I am confident Pirelli will do the best to be competitive."

With Brazilian race over the fight for drivers championship might seem open but doing some calculations I can only give you this RBR will lose the title in favor of Alonso and they rather do that than supporting Webber. That is very poor management from they part and I know they keep complaining about Ferrari not playing by the rules but what can you say about them ? Were they playing by the rules always favoring Vettel over Webber (remember the front wing). All of the hope of RBR is that Alonso to finish 5th or worse (in this position all drivers will have the same nr of points) so that Vettel will some advantage over Alonso,

and I really don’t think that Alonso will be stupid enough to lose the advantage he has. In order for Webber to win Alonso needs to be 3rd. But there is a huge chance that Vettel is he’ll be leading the pack to not step aside a let Webber win the title. I guess we will all see this in the next week race. I hope all the best for Webber in winning this championship because he fought with all drivers out there and with the team, also we have to give credit to Alonso who in a car far away from RB6 quality is managing to fight both RBR pilots, and also win. After Brazilian race Alonso said: "I just need to finish second, it doesn’t matter who wins in Abu Dhabi if I finish second. So the main goal for us is to be on pole on Saturday and to win the race on Sunday. If we cannot do that, because we are not quick enough, we try to be second. With that, the problem is finished." and also he reminded RBR they because they were all about no team orders they should continue in the same manner, but is all to see in the next Sunday race.

I must say I liked the race from Sunday it had little bit of everything and if it weren’t for the long race behind the safety cars I think it could have been even more entertaining. We all saw Mark Webber hitting the walls and loosing vital points in his fight for the title, but this was at the beginning what was more interesting happened at the end when Vettel managed to blow his engine only 10 laps to go, and how he did that? well easy pushing the car hard and trying to match Alonso’s great lap times. I am amazed how this guy and red Bull manage to screw up so easily. I mean when you are running a two races old engine going on ending third and after staying behind the safety car so many laps you might think that in someone’s brain the team or the driver will occur the though to save a bit that engine and not pushing it to the limit, thinking that Alonso is also on an old engine and further more he need to pass you, but no Vettel in his style pushed that engine to its limits and ended the race gaining squat, like so many time before and what is even more funny if can use this word is that reading the post race declarations of Vettel and Horner the guy that Red Bull will back in this two last races will be of course Vettel even that in order to win the title he need to first and Alonso needs to finish 3rd or worse each race is almost as they are asking to lose the championship, also Massa seems to be getting faster now in the end and @home in front of his fans I’ll bet he will want to show some skills and following this line of thinking if Ferrari play its cards right they could win the championship over the Red Bull who could have already have the titles in their pockets if they knew which driver to help, but backing up Vettel 100% and almost letting Webber to drive around just so they have two drivers was a clear mistake and the name of the team might shed some light on why (Red Bull=Stubborn). Well all the best to Webber and if it won’t be him to win the title then hail Alonso.

P.S. Don’t forget to vote in our poll. thank’s

Now the 3rd practice session has ended and what we could see so far is that Kubica will play a major role in the qualifying session. Alonso had a little slowdown on a really fast tour when he need to pass Nico who was running on turtle speed on the turn 15. Vettel only did 9 laps and his time is far from the top positions only 16th place. Webber was consistent again and manage the 4th place while Massa testing the dirt quality managed again the 6th position. Today i woke up full with energy and with a worm feeling in my hearth even that last night some snow managed it’s way down to the ground and it’s covering most of the landscape, and to complete the greatness of this morning my girlfriend decided to make me a nice surprise for breakfast and indeed it was, as celebration for upcoming new Formula1 season and the first race of Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix because there can be no race watching and enjoying on an empty stomach, so because an image is worth a thousand words here it is:
