The car will touch asphalt for the first time next Tuesday at the Spanish circuit of Jerez.
The new silver arrow MP4-27, is an evolution of the last year car who won for the McLaren team six World Cup races and finished second in the Constructors Championship while Jenson Button also finished second in driver’s Championship.
Its main technical innovations are to be seen in the rear part where the body work has been redesigned to improves the aerodynamics of the car and to accommodate an upgraded cooling system, which will improve the oil cooled gearbox. After uncovering Lewis Hamilton described the new McLaren as having "the most refined aesthetics seen in the latest years". Lewis is confident that his 6th season with the British team will be a strong one, and the 2008 world champion said about the team that: "is working from a solid foundation," and "never surrender" and because of this is always "getting stronger".
Janson Button added that the presentation of the new car shows the "hard work" that the team has put in the construction of the new MP4-27. "We have to thank the guys who have been working overtime this winter to develop this car," said the British pilot, who will be headed now to Jerez for the next week, when the tests will begin and where all can see what MP4-27 is all about.

Team principal Martin Whitmarsh said that the MP4-27 is the natural evolution of the last year model which "showed it’s strength," and with the new challenger they intend to qualify for the top spot in every single race of this season. Also the team principal needed to point out that: "Our engineering team continues to develop and grow: the key names are well known department (Tim Gross, chief engineer, Paddy Lowe, technical director and Neil Oatley, design director), while we continue to recruit young graduates of who we are very proud," In addition, the McLaren’s team principal said about the Button and Hamilton couple that is "perfect" and they "complement each other and provide an excellent mix of experience, speed and aggressiveness." to the team.

So with no further delay here is the MP47-27 in all it’s might:

Fernando Alonso, with his Ferrari has won his first Formula 1 Grand Prix for the 2011 season and this was the British GP at the newly upgraded Silverstone circuit.

Fernando Alonso took advantage over the some small seconds lost by Red Bull in the pits during the second stop in order to overcome Webber and Vettel, but this was not the main reason why the Spaniard fly to his victory today but the pace he had witch was way above the Red Bull’s.

In addition, Lewis Hamilton from McLaren helped Alonso keeping Vettel at bay. Hamilton had great race but due to fuel concerns he had to slow down and finished 4th just ahead of Massa which he fought to the last corner of the race.

And while they were optimistic before Melbourne I thing that I a great chance that they along with Virgin which managed to get out there and do some testing will be unable to beat the 107% rule. So if this goes on I guess this year will see less cars on the track than last year. Keep in mind for now this are only speculations but they were fueled by Timo Glock declarations who has admitted that Virgin might struggle to qualify for the Australian Formula One Grand Prix now that the FIA has reintroduced the old 107 percent qualifying rule for 2011, and, based on the times we see on the board, it means cars must be within about 6 seconds of the Q1 pole time on Saturday to qualify for the Melbourne grid, Timo concern is very real because according to the time table both Virgins were 2 seconds behind the 107% time, and to set an even bigger setback for HRT, it appears that front wing of their car did not meet the mandatory crash test and they will be forced to use the 2010 nose, and almost everyone is believing that they will be unable to qualify.

The top contesters also had ups and downs, Ferrari was testing different set-up and Massa made a few excursions off the track and set a pretty low time for the first session but he improved almost 2 seconds in the next practice. Hamilton and Button also looked very strong and they managed to secure first two places in the second testing while being 6th and 7th in the first session.

Red Bull showed again that they mean business and Sebastian Vettel and Mark Webber drove very strong in both sessions, and you can add to this the fact that Adrian Newey told Italy’s Corriere della Sera: "We currently have an advantage of between 3 to 5 tenths.", so yes they are very confident with were they stand this year and my guess will fight very strong to maintain the drivers and constructors championship within their grasp..

Rubens Barrichello set the fastest time for his team scoring 5th respectively 9th best results, showing that Williams is there to fight and score points.

Niko and Schumacher also made some fast times but as Hamilton said is still to early to speak about the real deal, and all will be played down in the qualifying session Saturday.

I must say I liked the race from Sunday it had little bit of everything and if it weren’t for the long race behind the safety cars I think it could have been even more entertaining. We all saw Mark Webber hitting the walls and loosing vital points in his fight for the title, but this was at the beginning what was more interesting happened at the end when Vettel managed to blow his engine only 10 laps to go, and how he did that? well easy pushing the car hard and trying to match Alonso’s great lap times. I am amazed how this guy and red Bull manage to screw up so easily. I mean when you are running a two races old engine going on ending third and after staying behind the safety car so many laps you might think that in someone’s brain the team or the driver will occur the though to save a bit that engine and not pushing it to the limit, thinking that Alonso is also on an old engine and further more he need to pass you, but no Vettel in his style pushed that engine to its limits and ended the race gaining squat, like so many time before and what is even more funny if can use this word is that reading the post race declarations of Vettel and Horner the guy that Red Bull will back in this two last races will be of course Vettel even that in order to win the title he need to first and Alonso needs to finish 3rd or worse each race is almost as they are asking to lose the championship, also Massa seems to be getting faster now in the end and @home in front of his fans I’ll bet he will want to show some skills and following this line of thinking if Ferrari play its cards right they could win the championship over the Red Bull who could have already have the titles in their pockets if they knew which driver to help, but backing up Vettel 100% and almost letting Webber to drive around just so they have two drivers was a clear mistake and the name of the team might shed some light on why (Red Bull=Stubborn). Well all the best to Webber and if it won’t be him to win the title then hail Alonso.

P.S. Don’t forget to vote in our poll. thank’s

Now the 3rd practice session has ended and what we could see so far is that Kubica will play a major role in the qualifying session. Alonso had a little slowdown on a really fast tour when he need to pass Nico who was running on turtle speed on the turn 15. Vettel only did 9 laps and his time is far from the top positions only 16th place. Webber was consistent again and manage the 4th place while Massa testing the dirt quality managed again the 6th position. Today i woke up full with energy and with a worm feeling in my hearth even that last night some snow managed it’s way down to the ground and it’s covering most of the landscape, and to complete the greatness of this morning my girlfriend decided to make me a nice surprise for breakfast and indeed it was, as celebration for upcoming new Formula1 season and the first race of Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix because there can be no race watching and enjoying on an empty stomach, so because an image is worth a thousand words here it is:

P.S. New Poll posted, check it out. Enjoy.
